How to make Chaos Strikes Back run on CaSTaway/GP

Someone posted about having problems starting a new adventure with CSB and CastawayGP on one of the GP32 forums...

I did this using the CSB images from the Dungeon Master and Chaos Strikes Back Encyclopedia.
http://dmweb.free.fr/  (amazing site btw)

I did all the disk operations using the ST's desktop within CaSTaway/GP itself, so you don't need a real ST to make this work.

To get in to the ST's desktop I used DISKB.STT that came with the original release of CastawayGP (I presume it still does).      Boot up with this image then use CaSTaway/GP's disk menu to insert the disks you are copying from and to.

In case there any non-ST users out there (shame on you), double click on A FLOPPY DISK and B FLOPPY DISK to open     up a window for the two disks and drag your file across to the relevent folder  Windoze stylee.  Micro$oft didn't invent     anything....

Make sure that after you save a disk you choose the new image (.sav) to reboot with. (You'll think there was a problem saving otherwise)

I'm using my current DM savegame to create this new adventure.  If you are using a set of characters from the CSB hall of champions the process should be the same, just use the file created when you saved your hero/'s instead of the DMGAME.DAT that I'm using here.

The first thing you need to do is to copy your hero/'s on to the Utility disk.  Put the file in the folder called CSB_UTIL and save the Utility disk in CastawayGP's disk menu.

You can then reboot and run the Utility disk, choose : MAKE NEW ADVENTURE, don't worry about changing disks, just click OK.  Now edit your characters portrait or click MAKE NEW ADVENTURE, don't worry about changing disks, just click on MAKE NEW ADVENTURE again.

Save the disk in CastawayGP's disk menu and you're ready for the last step.

You need to copy the new CBSGAME.DAT to your Chaos game disk.  This time the file needs to go in the CSB_GAME folder.  Save the game disk and then reboot using it, choose resume at the dungeon entrance, choose CSBGAME.DAT.... and that's it!!

Happy Corbrum hunting!!
